"I teach tradtional basketry techniques and styles, as well as original design forms using taditonal and creative exression. My original inspirationn in 1971 was Northeastern Algonquian and Iroquoian splint basketry. Since then I have been inspired by countless Native and Euro-American baskets from all over the Americas, and by European, African, Polynesian and Asian styles as well.

Basketry has become a path into the history, culture, and values of many lands and many peoples, and has been a vital experience in the appreciation of botanical gifts of nature as well as for the ingenuity of humankind." --- Carol Hart
